Targeted Wage Subsidies, a program available through Human Resources and Skills Development Canada (HRSDC), provides a temporary wage subsidy to businesses as an incentive to hire eligible individuals. The Lanark-North Leeds area is serviced by HRSDC offices in Perth, Smiths Falls and Carleton Place.

Program Objectives:

• To assist individuals to prepare for, obtain and maintain employment

• To enable employers to hire individuals who face barriers to employment

• To assist individuals experiencing difficulty in finding work to benefit from on-the-job work experience

Program Parameters:

• Wage subsidy may be approved for a period up to 78 weeks

• Wage subsidy may be approved for up to 60% of total wages for the individual
