Up to $120,000 in Training Assistance available!!!
Financial assistance for training is available to support development and diversification
of skill sets among the local labour force, and encourage growth of new jobs in technology, and technology supply chain industries (ie. metal fabrication, electronics assembly,
precision tooling) within our region.
The overall objective is to diversify the local economy by supporting the use of new technology within the operations of existing business, encourage technology-based start-ups or expansions, and provide skills to the labout force that will make them
employable in these, and related supply chain industries.
General Guidelines for this Program:

Training will have a technology-related component, or enhance skills of employees in technology supply chain industries;

Financial assistance consists of a 48.4% reimbursement of the actual
training expense, up to a maximum of $4840 per employee, after
completion of the training program;

A maximum of 25 employees can be claimed per applicant;

Training may be conducted in-house or be outsourced;

Employees trained can be new hires or existing employees, and should have full-time, permanent employment status (or long term contract);

Summer students, seasonal employees and temporary workers generally
do not qualify;

The business must be located in Lanark County, North Leeds, Smiths Falls or Merrickville-Wolford.
