The Lanark-North Leeds area is right next door to the City of Ottawa, bordering on the City's entire western boundary. Towns such as Carleton Place and Almonte are just minutes away from Ottawa's high tech west end and within a half hour drive to the downtown core or the Ottawa International Airport. All municipalities within Lanark-North Leeds are within a 45 minute drive to Ottawa west.

A network of highways connect our communities together and to the Nation's Capital. Many of our residents commute daily to Kanata, taking the quick drive from Highway 7 to the 417. There are also a number of Ottawa residents who commute to work in our high tech communities of Carleton Place and Almonte.

The Ottawa region is the fourth largest urban area in Canada, with a population of over 1 million. The region also has one of the most highly educated populations and highest level of per capita income.
