Innovation & Information Communications Technology (I&ICT)

 

The I&ICT funding stream supports innovation and technology initiatives which enhance business development opportunities in the knowledge based economy.

Eligible Project Recipients Are:

Non-profit organizations (including municipalities, municipal organizations, corporations, community development organizations, and associations); legal commercial entities including individuals, corporations, partnerships, cooperatives or trusts; and, groups or alliances of those described above where a lead recipient has been identified.

Eligible activities may include but are not limited to:

  • Innovation and technology research & development initiatives;
  • Technology, Information Communications Technology and Knowledge Based Economy studies and business plans;
  • Technological enhancement initiatives which will improve efficiencies and productivity;
  • Information Communications Technology infrastructure projects, including broadband and internet access;
  • Other incremental activities designed to stimulate business opportunities in the knowledge based economy.

Eligible Costs:

Eligible costs are expenses that will be incurred by the Project Recipient, which

are reasonable, incremental and required to carry out the project including but not limited to:

  • consultant and/or professional fees;
  • materials and supplies;
  • equipment and software;
  • installation expenses;
  • infrastructure costs;
  • other related costs.

Eligible Costs for Not-for-profit Project Recipients may be up to 75% of total Eligible Costs and will not normally exceed $10,000.

Eligible Costs for private sector Project Recipients may be up to 50% of total Eligible Costs and will not normally exceed $10,000.

Applications accepted until 4 p.m. October 15, 2010
with all work completed and expended
no later than February 25, 2011
